Selecting a pumping plant.
  • What is the power source? (electric, gas, PTO, ect...)
  • What is the water source? (open body of water, well, community etc...)
  • What is the Total Dynamic Head (TDH)?
    1. Elevation from water source to highest point in field +
    2. Pressure needed for operation +
    3. Pressure to overcome friction loss through fittings and pipe.
    4. ie. 100' + 25psi + 15psi 100'+80.85'=185.85' TDH (1psi=2.31' of water)= (25+15psi=35*2.31'=80.85')
  • What is the flow rate (gpm)?
